Transfer File tab

When you transfer a file using ECG QuickConnect, the recipient receives a notification email that you have transferred a file to them. The email includes a link to ECG QuickConnect. You can select the Source and the Destination in any order, but must select at least one of each before you can view the Delivery options.

Note: If the recipient has not signed up to use ECG QuickConnect with the email address you specify when you transfer the file, he or she also receives an invitation to ECG QuickConnect.

How to transfer a file (step-by-step)

1	Click the Transfer File tab. Note: If you are a delegate viewing someone else's inbox, the information you use is from that person's inbox and contacts list.
2	Specify the Source of the file by selecting one of the following: My Computer ServerA server is a computer. In some versions of ECG QuickConnect, a server can be added as a special type of contact. My InboxAn inbox lists all files that have been received and that have not been deleted or reached the expiration date. Tip: A server must already exist on the Contacts tab to use it as a source.

Specify the Source of the file by selecting one of the following:

3	To select a file from My Computer: Click Browse My Computer. The Choose File to Upload dialog box appears. Navigate to the file and select it. Click Open. The file is listed under Selected Files.
4	To select a file from a server: Select a server from the drop-down list. Tip: Servers are managed on the Contacts tab. Click Browse Server. The Browse Remote Server dialog box appears. Navigate to the file and select it. Click Select File. The File(s) Upload Status dialog box appears. When the file is loaded, click Close. The file is listed under Selected Files. Tip: If you are loading a large file, you can click the link in the File(s) Update Status dialog box to open a new tab with another instance of ECG QuickConnect and continue working while the file loads.
5	To select a file from the inbox: Click Browse Inbox. The Browse Inbox dialog box appears. Select the check box for one or more files in the inbox. Click Select Files. The file(s) are listed under Selected Files.
6	Repeat until you have selected all of the files you want to forward. Tip: You can select files from multiple sources
7	Specify the destination(s) for the files: Click Destination. Tip: You can click Next to move from one step to the next. To transfer the file to your own inbox, click the plus sign next to My Inbox. My Inbox is listed under Selected Contacts. Select the plus sign next to one or more contacts to move them to the Selected Contacts list. Tip: Click the arrow next to a contact type to expand that list. For servers, click the current path to select a different directory. Optionally select one or more options: Compress, Encrypt, or Rename. An option is green when selected. Tip: Click the red X in the Selected Contacts list to remove a destination contact.
8	Schedule the delivery: Click Delivery. To transfer the file now, click Send Now. To schedule the file transfer for another time, click Schedule, select a Date from the calendar control, and select a Time from the time control.
9	Confirm the details of the file transfer. Click Confirmation. Review the information about the transfer. Note: You can return to any step and change your selections. Click Send. The File Upload Status dialog box appears. Tip: You can continue working in ECG QuickConnect by clicking the link: this action returns you to your Inbox. Once the file is uploaded, click Close. The Scheduled Queue appears.

About groups and delegates

Groups and delegates are only available if you are a UHG employee.

Members of an ECG QuickConnect group share an inbox. When you view a group inbox, the Groups tab and the User Preferences subtab of the Home tab are not available. Groups can be included in distribution lists (on the Contacts tab).

You can delegate another person to download, forward, and transfer files on your behalf. If you have added any delegates, they are listed in the table on the Delegation subtab.

Contacts	Any member of the group can add or delete contacts.	A delegate cannot add or delete contacts for the person who delegated them.
